Caldereta is a dish that is often served for family dinners. For many Filipinos, it can be considered as comfort food for others, pang-fiesta.
Slow Cook Braised Caldereta
- 2 cups water
- 1 kg beef cubes
- 2 packs tomato sauce
- 1 head garlic, minced
- 1 big red onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper, ground
- 2 pieces bell pepper, sliced
- carrots, sliced
- potatoes, sliced
- green olives
- 1/2 cup quezo de bola, grated

Simmer beef and skim off the scum

Add all ingredients except olives, potatoes, carrots, and cheese

Slow cook beef until it is tender and mixture thickens

Always taste before you add more salt

Once it is tender add the rest of the ingredients and let it simmer until veggies is cooked
